Sumba Fest 2025 was a landmark tribal and contemporary art festival held in Pune, rooted in the legacy of late Raosaheb Gurav Sir and the vision of Sumbaran Trust. The festival celebrated tribal artists, endangered art forms, master artists, and cultural thinkers through exhibitions, performances, talks, awards, and immersive audio-visual storytelling.
Our role in the success of Sumba Fest 2025 was pivotal, spanning creative ideation, execution, and delivery across multiple high-impact formats
The biggest challenge was the scale and urgency of deliverables under extreme time pressure. We were responsible for creating the Sumba Mascot, theme song, animated intro film, the Raosaheb Gurav documentary, the core Sumba Event AV (“What is Sumba All About”), and multiple audio-visual films for awardees and dignitaries each with its own tone, sensitivity, and narrative depth.
Balancing cultural authenticity, emotional storytelling, and technical polish while coordinating music, animation, narration, archival material, and live-event requirements turned the project into a true race against time.
Our objective was to visually and emotionally define Sumba Fest 2025, giving the festival a strong, unified identity. This included creating a mascot and animated language that symbolized inclusivity across art forms, crafting films that honoured legacy and living artists, and designing audio-visual experiences that could resonate with both artists and audiences during the live event.
Equally important was ensuring on-time delivery without creative compromise, maintaining discipline, clarity, and collaboration across teams.
Despite the tight timelines, the entire suite of films, animations, music, and AV content was delivered before the deadline and performed exceptionally well during the event. The mascot, films, and narratives became integral to the festival’s identity, enhancing audience engagement and emotional impact.
Sumba Fest 2025 emerged as a massive success, and the creative output played a central role in shaping its voice, energy, and cultural significance standing as a strong example of what focused teamwork and disciplined storytelling can achieve under pressure.
